Belly Fat Weight Loss Tips for Women

The fastest way to lose belly fat for women is to modify your diet and do the combination of cardio and strength training exercises that make you lose weight all over. That’s because fat gets stored in the tummy first and the stomach is the last place it comes off. Women who are otherwise fit all over may feel a little self conscious in a bikini. So, the fastest way to lose belly fat is to realize that you’ve got to get into perfect shape.

There is no one specific exercise that will make you lose your stomach if you are 20 pounds overweight. Sit ups and crunches will help strengthen the muscles in the area, but do nothing to burn the fat. And, belly fat is, at its core, fat. The only way to lose fat is to eat fewer calories than you burn.

So, one element in the fastest way to lose belly fat is to come up with a healthy eating plan. This is an eating plan for life, not some fad diet. When you yo yo in weight, you actually compound the stomach fat problem because you lose weight in other areas but you put it back on in the stomach area first. So, making a change in your diet on a permanent basis is key.

You’re developing a lifestyle, not going on a temporary diet.

Your diet needs to be concerned not only with the total number of calories but the kinds of calories. You need to take in at least 1 gram of protein per day for every pound you weigh. You also need some fat in your diet. A diet of 30:20:50 in the ratio protein: fat: carbohydrates makes a lot of sense for an overweight woman who wants the fastest way to lose belly fat. Fish oils are the best kind of fat for this purpose.

Next up is your training program. The fastest way to lose belly fat is by doing both weight training and cardio exercises. A study of overweight women showed that women who alternated between cardio and strength training every other day lost significantly more fat in their stomachs than women who relied on aerobics alone.

The best way to do aerobic exercise is high intensity interval training. This is where you do a two minute burst of activity at the most intense level you are capable of doing followed by three minutes of moderate activity. Repeat the cycle.

You will also want to track your progress. Not only will you be encouraged to see your belly fat decreasing, but if you stall or go up, you will be able to correct the problem quickly. It is a good idea to take your body fat measurements every two weeks.

The fastest way to lose belly fat is to develop good lifestyle habits. Once you lose the weight, your belly fat will come off.

How To Lose Lower Belly Fat - Good Solid Pointers

Long story short, it’s not just about how to lose lower belly fat, it’s about keeping it off once you do it.

How to lose lower belly fat is a more common question than one would think. The reason being is that it’s a very common problem across the world. Think about that for just a second, not just here in the United States, but world wide.

Sometimes the biggest issue isn’t learning how to lose the fat; it’s learning how to keep it off altogether. That can be a bigger battle than just getting the weight off to begin with.

When it comes to losing lower belly fat and really fat in general, you need to get yourself into the right frame of mind. Commit yourself to your tummy fat loss and weight loss goals. If you don’t you are setting yourself up for failure.

After that, line up a good support system to help you get to where you want to be weight wise. Having people around which have the same goals you do; makes that goal more reachable. The reason being is that everyone can draw on the strength of each other, and have someone to be accountable to.

Choosing the right exercise program is one of the most important parts of losing your lower stomach fat. Now with losing lower belly fat you would want to find a program where you could involve crunches into your exercise routine.

The good thing about crunches is that you can do them at different angles to target all the muscles in your abdominal area. Some of these angles will let you focus on the lower part of your midsection; which will speed up the elimination of your body fat.

Walking is an excellent way of getting rid of the bulge that we all fight with. Not to mention walking is easier on our joints and that can end up helping us all in the long haul. Remember, the walks don’t have to be miles long, just long enough to get your heart pumping and your metabolism up.

Now the diet part is sometimes looked at as the hardest part of the whole routine. Breaking old habits is tough and getting rid of things like sweets and high carbs are some of the toughest things to give up.

If a person can stick to low protein meats, like turkey breast, chicken breast, egg whites then they will be on the right track. Also sticking to plain grilled chicken and salads can make not only a great meal; but it will definitely help you lose weight.

Put just a few of these ideas in place and you will be surprised how quickly the lower tummy fat will go away.

Are you looking for a diet to lose belly fat? Belly fat is often one of the hardest places to lose fat. What will it take to get the weight off? To be successful a combination of dieting and exercise and a lifetime commitment to health.

It is common knowledge, to lose weight you must cut back on food intake. Not only cutting back your calories but eating certain foods that are high in protein will assist you in losing weight.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So, don’t fill up on coffee; make your meal nutritious and high protein. If your asking, what difference does it make if I eat foods high in protein?

Protein rich foods will help satisfy your appetite. Protein is essential to building healthy cells. Some examples of foods high in protein is yogurt, chicken and eggs. Also, try to shave some of the fat off your diet. Opt for fat free yogurt, egg whites instead of whole eggs and remove the skin from chicken.

Eating small meals at regular intervals will help you lose weight. It will also keep your blood sugar level on a more level basis. Eating several small meals a day will decrease your appetite and aide in decreasing the size of your stomach.

Never skip meals thinking you are saving calories or you will just eat more the next meal. This will cause your appetite to increase. And more than likely increase your cravings for sweets as well. Remember, keep your goal in mind. That is to lose belly fat.

Eating before going to bed is a bad habit that you need to break. The body is not in to fat burning mode close to bed time. Bedtime is when the body takes time to recuperate from the day’s activity; it is when your metabolism is burning the slowest.

You will be doing yourself a great favor by cutting soda out of your diet. Regular soda is loaded with sugar.

There you have it, a few pointers on how to win your battle against the bulge. Now remember, you can’t give up, because it’s not going to be easy and there are going to be rough times ahead.

Just have a good support system and a positive attitude and you will come out on top and have accomplished your goals and you will be looking good.

The Natural Way To Lose Belly Fat

The Natural Way To Lose Belly Fat

Exercies as a natural way to lose belly fat? Who’d have thought!

Looking forward to your comments!

// BEGIN Reprint

Most people in the world have belly fat, and many try to figure out a way of getting rid of that belly fat. They try fad diets, and some kind of juice that will keep you in the bathroom all day. However, the best natural way to lose belly fat is? Drum Roll Please…

Its EXERCISE !! I can hear most people right now either groaning or let out a sigh, the reason is because most people don’t want to put in the work. Hey I’m not throwing off on anybody, because I use to be one of those that would rather sit in front of a T.V. then get up and do some type of exercising.

However, there isn’t but one way of doing it, and that is getting up and doing it. You have to get your mind right people, you need to get in that state of mind that nobody is going to stand in your way, and you welcome all challenges.

Once you have your mind right and you know you are going to be dedicated, then the next thing you need to do is find a team. What I mean by that is find some people that are willing to go that extra mile or give you a kick start when you just don’t feel like going.

No one has ever accomplished their goals by themselves, I don’t care what anyone tells you, somebody helped them along the way in some shape or form. It’s like that in all walks of life and this is no different than any other situation.

###WEIGHT-LOSS-TIP###
# Actually, if you don’t share your goals with others, you are more likely to achieve them. When you share a goal, it gets rid of cognitive dissonance. In effect, sharing your goals makes you LESS likely to achieve them. #
###AUTHOR-COMMENT###

OK, now that you have your team in place, it’s time to pick out the type of exercise program that is going to work for you. It’s very important that you pick the right program for you because you want it to keep you going not burn you out.

###WEIGHT-LOSS-TIP###
# Everyone want’s to overdo it in the beginning. If you get burned out, you’re just wasting your time. #
###AUTHOR-COMMENT###

Now let’s look at a few exercises that could help you lose that belly fat. Swimming, this is often overlooked because most people think of it as just a casual thing to do. You would be surprised at how fast you could get that belly in shape by swimming. You use every muscle in your body which makes you work harder and it burns that fat.

Jogging, start out light, let’s say 10-15 minutes a day then just keep moving your time on up. Here is one that everyone knows, and it is the most used way to get rid of belly fat?. Crunches.

That’s right, get you a mat and get started with those crunches. The good thing about crunches is that there are different techniques one could use to work on every angle of your abdominal area.

###WEIGHT-LOSS-TIP###
# Good advice with swimming, jogging and walking, but ditch the crunches! If you have to, once you’re thin enough to show off your belly, THEN worry about packing on muscle mass there (which crunches barely do anyway). #
###AUTHOR-COMMENT###

If you were to implement just two of those exercises into your daily routine then you will shed that belly fat quicker than you can blink.

Winning the Belly Fat Loss Battle

Winning the Belly Fat Loss Battle

A few notes on winning the belly fat loss battle and other article reprints.

Due to some feedback I’ve received, some people would like me to be more specific about what’s no good in an article and what is. Since the whole point of this experiment was to keep the blog updated and give you some food for thought in between the articles that I write (occasionally), I’m happy to point out a few things as well.

So, for future articles, I may post a summary, or some comments within the reprint stuck in a bunch of sharp signs and fancy brackets (I’ll use a macro). Here’s an example:

These will go in the body text, so as you’re reading, if I have something quick to say, you can see it.

This is a battle that millions of people around the world go though. The battle is losing stomach fat. With all the temptation that is out there with fast food and it being so easy just to give into it, it’s really hard to lose it.

###weight loss###
# how epic! #
###tip – comment###

There are some people think that there is a conspiracy theory out there that government puts this stuff out to make it tougher for us to not spend our money. Now personally I don’t know about that however but that’s for another time and place.

Losing stomach fat isn’t easy, we know that. However it can be done if you have a few things in place, and it can be done quicker than you can ever imagine. However those things in place have to be firm and you have to stick with it.

Pick out a good diet plan, there a plenty of them out there however choosing the right one is tricky. Remember not everyone is the same, so that means what might work for your best friend, may not work for you.

###weight loss###
# Check out Intermittent Fasting #
###tip – comment###

A couple of the diets that would work would be a low carb diet and lean protein diet. Low carb food would be grilled chicken and a salad. Really anything grilled would work just make sure it has nothing on it. Lean protein would be turkey breast, chicken breast, egg white.

Now you have the diet in place; now it’s time to pick out a good workout routine. This can be as tricky as finding a good diet. The reason is you have to find a routine that works for you, you do not want to get into something and then three weeks later get bored of it.

###weight-loss###
# Remember: diet is more important than your workout for belly fat loss, so do something you can enjoy #
###tip-comment###

This type of thing happens all the time; people get burned out because they lose interest and frankly just aren’t having any fun. Having fun is really a big key part of your success so make sure you pick something you are going to enjoy doing.

The types of exercises that are out there a dime a dozen, and like I mentioned before, it’s just picking the right one. For instance, jogging is a great way to lose that bulge, and if jogging is a little rough on your joints and bones then a brisk walk is just as good. It’s all about getting your heart rate and metabolic rate going through the roof.

Once last thing that will help you get rid of that stomach is finding people that want the same thing you do. Not only will it be fun to have those people around, you can lean on each other when things are tough and you all can help each other make it through.

There you have it, the plan is out there, all you have to do is go get it.

Well, you may be thinking here we are again. Where can I find out how to lose belly fat?? My friend you are not alone. The CDC reported that in 2007-2008 about 1/3 of US citizens are obese and that number has increased 1.1% since 2007.

It is a fact; obesity is steadily becoming a world wide epidemic. In 2007-2008 over 72 billion citizens, world wide, were obese and again that number is climbing.

Overweight individuals are more prone to serious health problems such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, depression etc? Health problems, that are a direct result of overweight, cost billions and billions of dollars each year. Need I mention the emotional damage and social stigmatization that is a result of overweight? I think not.

So, back to our original question, how to lose belly fat? It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that you have to cut back on your eating. It is essential that the calories taken in are less than the calories burned. If not, then you guessed it, weight gain!

Reducing the amount of calories you consume is essential. All pre-packaged food comes with a nutritional label. Take note of the calories, fat grams, carbohydrates etc in everything you eat. Also pay close attention to serving size.

Another tip on how to lose belly fat or any fat, for that matter; cut out the alcohol! Beer is loaded with calories that have no nutritional value. Not to mention the other detrimental effects alcohol has on your body. Alcohol causes liver damage; it causes inflammation of the pancreas. So, beware!

Sugar is not your friend. Be aware of the carbohydrate content in food or drinks. Look at how much sugar is in soda. Just cutting out soda alone will save you quite a bit of calories. If you take in too much sugar and don’t burn it then weight gain ensues.

Weight loss is more than physical work. It involves mental and emotional dedication as well. You must make a commitment to attaining better health. It is also helpful to have a support system. After all you will be in this for the long haul.

Daily exercise is key to losing weight. After all, muscle burns fat and in order to build muscle you must use it! A high cardiovascular workout is a big help in losing weight. Examples of high cardio workouts are using the treadmill, circuit training, stair climbing, etc?

Cardiovascular exercise helps to speed up the metabolism. But is you really want to whittle down your belly, add strength training to your routine. You will be amazed at the results.

I won’t lie to you; it is a long hard road. But your hard work will pay off. You will feel better physically and emotionally. And there is nothing more important than your health. So, what are you waiting for? Lose the tummy fat!

Belly Fat Loss - More Fluff

Saw this article about belly fat loss – seeing too many of them these days. Why do people seem to love the motivational fluff so much?

Since I don’t have much time for writing right now, I’m instead going to share some good and bad articles that I come across. Enjoy the article and see if you come to the same conclusion that I did.

Looking forward to your comments!

Odds are if you need belly fat loss you also need to lose weight other places as well.
To me, belly fat is the most embarrassing and unsightly fat you can have. What happens when you put your favorite jeans on? Your belly fat gets pushed up and spills over the top of the jeans. This is called muffin top. How cute, right? Wrong!

I hate it and belly fat loss is also the most difficult to achieve, second only to arm fat. You have to lose weight all over to lose weight in your belly and the best way to do that is to take in less calories than you burn in one day.

I want you to do something, not for me, but for yourself. Start this all off by taking a thirty minute walk everyday. If you cannot go for thirty minutes the first week then work up to it. Walking is the best thing you can do for yourself. Walking will improve lung and muscle function. Your heart will love you for it. Carry a water bottle to stay hydrated especially if it is warm outside. You can sweat out a considerable amount of water and nutrients in thirty minutes if you are not careful.

Losing weight takes commitment to yourself but staying motivated can be a challenge sometimes. If motivation to lose weight was easy to come by, no one would be overweight in our country. We would all be our ideal weights and pictures of fitness.

It’s up to you to figure out what things will help you get and stay motivated. Everyone knows the consequences associated with having too much body fat and living a sedentary lifestyle. It’s one of those things though that until it happens to you or someone you love, you just stay complacent and think that it will never happen.

Of course, it can and will if you don’t take control now. There are a few aspects to losing weight, such as eating better foods, less junk, and getting a lot of exercise. Believe it or not, for many people the motivation to lose weight will often start with finding a work out you can live with. That is why I suggest starting with walking for thirty minutes a day. It is easy to stick to. You can always incorporate more into a work out, but it pays to start simple.

Another great way to get and keep your motivation is to find a like minded friend to exercise with. It can be as simple as the two of you taking a class together, joining a gym, or just going for walks, having a buddy can make all the difference.

One thing you don’t want to do is put yourself under a lot of pressure by setting up an unrealistic time frame. Don’t wait until a few weeks before a wedding, or vacation. If you do, you’ll just be setting yourself up for failure. It will be virtually impossible for you to achieve your belly fat loss and once the event comes and goes you’ll probably be done working out. Instead just make a commitment to yourself to get healthy, that is the best motivation to lose weight.

Fastest Way to Lose Weight

On July 22, 2011, in Weight Loss, by admin

fit woman in swimsuitThis article will give you some tips that will help you teach yourself the fastest way to lose weight.

Dieting is easy…

BUT…

Staying on a diet until you see positive results is hard. Hard enough that most people tend to shy away from dieting after a few days of staying on it. The fastest way to lose weight is not difficult in an ideal world. Even better, once you’re on a diet; it could actually be fun. After all, losing excess weight is a mental exercise. That means setting your body and mind to achieving your goal. Ideals do not have to be different from reality, but the sad reality is, they often are.

Most dieters believe in a lot of misconceptions about diets like cutting back on proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Actually, you can still lose weight even if you eat lots of proteins, carbohydrates and fat. You may lose more weight because you are being more metabolically efficient – especially when coupled with increased activity.

So What is The Fastest Way to Lose Weight?

Activity and food intake are closely related. Even if you eat healthily while your lifestyle is sedentary, you will still gain weight. And even if you exercise to your heart’s content while your diet is really bad, then all your effort will simply be put to waste.

So how should diet and exercise work to your benefit then?

Simple! You just need to diet and exercise strategically.

Strategic dieting and exercising is probably the fastest way to lose weight in a week, in a month, and for the rest of your life. However, if it takes a lot of discipline, focus and even passion may not be able to match what your brain thinks your body wants. In order to do get your evolutionary tendencies to coincide with your diet and exercise habits, here are 3 amazing tips you can do and master without ever growing tired. Think of them as a way to form lifelong habits that will make you feel younger and look better.

  1. Stress and worry-free dieting
Most people are stressed about losing weight. And stressing about it alone can make you gain more weight. Stress affects the brain negatively by increasing your appetite and makes you feel sluggish and really tired. It can make you feel like the pressure is always on you! And because of this, you tend to worry too much about everything, especially your diet! In addition, worrying can slow your metabolism down. When your metabolism slows down, your body’s ability to convert nutrient stores into energy for your metabolic activity decreases. Your body will store more fat and even misuse the energy you already have. How will you know that your body is misusing energy? Too much thinking, stressing and worrying about something such as your diet requires a lot of energy. Instead of you using the same amount to eat healthy and exercise, your body loses precious power simply by doing nothing. And the result it has on your body is far from worth it. Furthermore, have you ever noticed that when you are anxious about achieving your goal you are less likely to get it? Well, that’s because you are focused more on how to do it rather than actually doing what you need to do. A Stress and worry-free diet should start in the morning. Don’t skip breakfast or eat less than what you normally consume. Instead, remove those parts of your breakfast that you know are unhealthy and replace them with something healthier. Most juices from concentrate are actually not much different from canned soda. So instead of juice, wash a clean piece of fruit and enjoy the extra fiber and fresh flavor. Regular bread should be replaced with whole grain bread and sugar coated cereals can be replaced with regular oats. You can continue this type of substitution throughout lunch and dinner and you’ll see a great difference in as little as 7 days. Substitution is about as simple and good as it gets when it comes to diets.
  2.

  3. Light and simple exercise regimen
I hate to say this because I’m an elite athlete, but heavy exercising is for the elite and requires a lot of things to go right to make gains. They need an exorbant amount of calories, a solid nine hours of sleep each night, and spend several hours in the gym each week lifting hard and heavy. Most people like you usually eat too little and sleep far too little, so for you, the easiest and fastest way to lose weight is to keep exercise simple and light. A 5-minute cardio session may not cut it, but a 5-minute whole body activity like running can make you lose more calories in a single day. I challenge you to work your way up to five full-out sprints per day; full-out sprints can only be sustained for 15-30 seconds; that’s less than 2.5 minutes of running and it will do you far more good than half an hour on the treadmill. However, don’t forget to warm-up. 5 minutes of brisk walking before your sprints will keep you injury free – just limber up during the walk. Playing with your kids is also great full body exercise. Since kids are high in energy, playing with them can get you pumped in as little as 5 minutes. Biking and swimming are also simple exercises that work well for your body inside and out. Anything that keeps you moving is considered an exercise. And anything that makes you sweat increases your metabolic activity – leading to pounds after pounds of fat loss.
  4.

  5. Importance of getting quality sleep
Most people fail to realize that sleeping is related to weight loss, but it actually has a lot to do with it. Sleeping produces hormones like melatonin, serotonin, and endorphins that can make you feel good. These neurotransmitters help with normal body functioning and can hinder stress. And as mentioned a while ago, stress can put your body in hibernation mode. Your body’s metabolic activity decreases with stress and your appetite increases dramatically. In order to avoid this from happening, an uninterrupted and deep sleep of 8 to 10 hours is required. You’re not trying to stay in bed longer for weight loss, but because you have likely been undersleeping for many years, and your body will appreciate it. Think of a the time when you were functioning at a level far below your peak because of sleeplessness. Remember how that awful sluggish feeling made you want to crawl back to bed and just sleep the rest of that day? Of course, you wouldn’t want that. Fatigability and exhaustion can make you perform less well, and in children, it makes a huge difference in test scores. Usually, it’s better for them to get a full nights sleep than to stay up late studying. So if you really are serious about losing weight, don’t neglect simple things that matter most to your health. Maintaining a good and properly functioning physique is, after all, the fastest way to lose weight.

Every now and then I have to link to posts that are absolutely brilliant; the below is one such post from one of my favorite blogs.

NeuroLogica Blog » Pure, Slick Pseudoscience.

If you have ever been approached by a MLMer with a health product, you MUST read this article. If you are one of the poor saps selling MLM health products – it’s time to open your mind a little to something that is actually worth putting in it cause you likely have a lot of pseudo-science in there that’s not helping anyone, including yourself.

That being said, I always respect people who take action to pursue their goals and want the best for everyone involved. Knowledge though, is a dangerous thing. If you’re involved with a “health product” through an MLM (I have yet to encounter one worth purchasing), then you either have to reject the right thing, or change your ways yet again.

The choice is yours, but I hope you make the right one.

Protein Rich Foods

On June 27, 2011, in Recipes, Weight Loss, by admin

Foods that are rich in protein are considered very nutritional for the human body. Protein is a polymer chain of amino acids, and when consumed in the body is known to help create muscle growth and replenish the skin with nutrients that promote a healthy look. Protein rich foods are also good for strengthening bones, finger and toenails and hair follicles. Most protein rich foods are essential for all living creatures and people, no matter their dietary intake.

Getting enough protein in your diet is not difficult for those who do not subscribe to any specific diet, but for vegetarians, it can be much different. Vegetarians do not eat meat, which is one of the best foods to find a high protein count, so vegetarian protein rich foods are harder to find.

The following will provide a list of protein rich foods for both regular eaters and vegetarians:

Regular diet:

  1. Red Meat – Foods like steak and beef are incredibly high in protein.
  2. Fish – One of the healthiest protein rich foods, fish are high in protein and omega-3 oils rich in minerals that promote a healthy body. Do not ingest too much fish though, as they are high in mercury, which when consumed too much, can be poisonous to the body.
  3. Chicken – The most popular food to get a lot of protein in your diet – Chicken is relatively safe in consumption and carries little fat and carbohydrates.
  4. Peanut Butter – Very High in Protein and healthy fatty oils – Be careful though, as Peanut Butter is incredibly high in fat and can contain sugar. Stick to Organic or natural Peanut Butter.
  5. Dairy Foods (cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese) – Excellent source of protein, but high in fat. Purchase dairy products that are low-fat or made from two percent milk.
  6. Nuts (Peanuts, Almonds, Seeds) – Rich in protein and healthy fat oils, but like Peanut Butter, very high in fat.
  7. Eggs – Great source of Protein, but high in fat and cholesterol
  8. Beans – Moderate level of protein
  9. Milk – Best liquid to consumer for protein, but can be high in fat and carbohydrates. Stick with Skim or one percent milk.
  10. Berries – Best fruit for protein, though only moderate level.

Protein rich foods for vegetarians:

  1. Dairy Products
  2. Peanut Butter
  3. Nuts
  4. Beans
  5. Whole Grains (Quinoa) – Whole Grains offer a moderate level of protein and a healthy dose of fiber, with the only drawback being the high level of carbohydrates.
  6. Soy (Tofu) – Soy foods are a healthy food substitute for vegetarians, especially those who cut out all types of meat products from their diet.
  7. Meat Substitutes (Seitan, Veggie Burgers) – Meat substitutes are another excellent option for vegetarians cutting meat from their diet.
  8. Milk
  9. Berries
  10. Protein Supplements – Protein products, like Whey Protein Powder is a terrific way to get protein into your diet. Mix into your milk or other liquids.

Hopefully, the protein rich foods list will be helpful to both vegans and non-vegetarians alike. Since I have been both, I know it is good to have a nice list at your fingertips.

  1. Salmon is one of the best meats and it also has great taste and positive effects.
  2. Turkey also helps burn fat and is packed with protein.
  3. Beef has lots of iron and, when eaten in its leanest form, can help you create red blood cells as well.
  4. Green tea has many benefits including being one of the belly fat burning foods.
  5. Skim Milk has calcium and allows you to increase your metabolic rate.

This list of fat burning foods will work well for anyone, but specific genders may do better on specific foods. Fat burning foods for women should include berries. Fiber is a magical quality in a weight loss session and berries have excellent amounts of fiber. You can choose raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries and make sure your taste buds do not get bored.

When it comes to fat burning foods for men, beef is generally at the top of the list. Men typically need more protein to build muscle and get rid of fat. Lean beef is loaded with that protein and also has the added iron men need.

If you want to burn fat and lose weight, a healthy, well-balanced diet filled with fat burning foods is essential. Couple that with exercise and plenty of water and you will reach your goals in no time.

What To Eat To Lose Weight

what to eat to lose weight article imageAre you wondering what to eat to lose weight?

Or perhaps you are thinking about not eating to lose weight.

In either case, this article will address how to lose a lot of weight, primarily through dietary techniques, although exercise can greatly speed up your weight loss efforts. In this article, I will talk about the benefits and pitfalls of losing weight through calorie restriction as well as some sustainable dietary tips.

Let us first address a very common and loaded question:

Does not eating make you lose weight?

I have done just about every diet under the sun, and many of them have been calorie restriction diets. While effective, the biggest pitfall of these is how difficult they are to sustain. Competition bodybuilders have mastered this art, but it is not an easy road to travel.

Alternatively, if you consider the Bragg diet coupled with fasting, this leads to severe calorie restriction that causes you to lose both fat and muscle. This may be sufficient for your needs, and I honestly felt wonderful on the diet, but if you want to eat meat, you should look elsewhere. A raw foods diet is not for everyone, and if you couple fasting with a typical western diet (instead of a raw foods diet), you are far more likely to gain weight than to lose it.

You usually gain weight on this regime because your metabolism gets downregulated when you are fasting, and if you follow a fast with a high calorie meal anytime soon, your body absorbs all of the calories and quickly converts them to fat so that you can survive the next fast when it comes around.

So, can you lose weight by not eating?

Yes but…

Only if you can sustain a very low calorie diet with an excellent vitamin profile (think fruits, vegetables, nuts and berries). For many people, this is ideal, but others cannot stand it. If it sounds like a good fit, give it a try. If not, read on.

I will now discuss what to eat to lose weight if the above approach is not for you.

Foods to Avoid When Losing Weight

First, let us consider foods to avoid when you are losing weight. As I have said in other articles, if it comes in a box, bag or can – avoid it. Substitute for something that is natural and fresh instead. Cereal bars, despite their attractive packaging, are not full of living vitamins and nutrients – they are what are called “dead calories”. Dead calories do not help you much, and are all too easy to over-consume.

What To Eat To Lose Weight

Having lived in a second world country, I think the main reason for the American obesity epidemic has to do with the convenience of calorie dense foods. In developing countries, food has to be cooked and cleaned from scratch for the most part which means that there are few snacks easily available, and everything comes from fresh, raw ingredients which are generally much more filling and more expensive. The result is that people eat less food because it is harder to make and healthier food in general. Combined, that makes for a thinner population.

We often “don’t have time to cook” which usually means a highly processed, quick meal with little to no nutritional value and a very high calorie count. Take a lesson from the developing nations (that are getting fatter the more developed they get), and make meals from raw ingredients that take time to make.

This could end up being the best piece of advice you get for making foods that help you lose weight.

Weird Ways to Lose Weight

There are all sorts of weird ways to try and lose weight to avoid the heavy lifting of actually adopting a good diet and exercise regime. Do not waste your time on these because they are usually just as much work, if not more, and will often deliver less than acceptable results.

Heed the advice in this article; put more time into the food you make, use better ingredients, and stop going for the fast fix, and you will lose weight. Avoid the calorie restriction trap that often leads to yo-yo diets that make you worse off than you started. Finally, if it sounds appealing to you, give fasting and a raw foods diet a try. Although I no longer use this method because I require large amounts of calories for my power lifting workouts, it is very suitable for people that are less active, and I loved how I felt.

Best of luck to you and I look forward to hearing about your success in the comments below.
